Cold and blustery in the small hours, cloud coming and going and a west wind that made the air feel near 14°. It stayed that way through the morning. Then around eleven the cloud cleared away and the sun climbed into an empty sky and did what it could, lifting the afternoon to near 22° before the wind finally dropped at dusk. Then it went still. The evening was clear and sharp and the cold sat where it was.
