Overcast and cold from the first hour, the air near 25°F under a ceiling so low and damp it was nearly fog by mid-morning, the light grey and even and going nowhere. Nothing fell from it. Around 2pm the cloud began to break and within the hour the sky was clear, the sun low and brief and the air at its best near 32°. Then the cold came down with the dark. After dark it felt near 20° under a hard black sky without a cloud in it, and it held there through midnight, still and sharp.
