Low cloud in the small hours and the air near 54°, damp enough to bead on the railings. It held past sunrise. Then in the hour after 8am the grey pulled apart and was gone, leaving a hard clean blue. The day warmed slowly under it and topped near 62°, a west wind rising with the afternoon in strong gusts, the kind that flattens a jacket against your back. It carried the warmth off as fast as it came. By late evening the sky was still clear and the air had gone cool.
