Warm at midnight, the air near 84°F and the dark barely cooler, near 75° at its lowest just before the sun came up. Then it climbed. The sun had a clear sky to itself and the heat built hour on hour, near 93° by early afternoon and near 106° by late afternoon, the air so dry it took the sweat before it formed. No shade anywhere. The evening let go only slowly, still near 97° after sunset with a dry breeze pushing through.
