Cold that did not move. The small hours held near 0° under a clear sky and the air was still enough that the cold simply sat on you. Dawn came late and pale. Cloud gathered through the late morning and by noon it had covered most of the sky, which took the little warmth the sun had offered. Around 4pm the cover broke and the low light returned for an hour or two. The evening went colder still, sliding toward −5° as the sky filled in again.
