Grey from the small hours on, the air near 40° under a full sky and a stiff breeze. The morning brought light without sun. The afternoon crept up to near 44° and stopped, the cloud never lifting and the wind keeping the damp cold on the skin. No rain in it. Evening came early and grey, the air sliding back toward 40°.
