Fog from midnight to midnight and not one breath of wind in all of it, the air feeling near 19°F in the small hours. The cold barely moved. Daylight came as a dull glow that never brightened, the air creeping only to near 25° by early afternoon, and the dark returned before the day had properly begun. Damp and dead still. The evening sank back near 20° with the fog as thick as ever.
