Warm through the small hours, the air near 80° and thick under cloud that thinned toward dawn. The sun came up into a clearing sky. Heat built steadily and by mid-afternoon it was near 94°, the pavement giving it back and the air gone dry. A few clouds drifted over and gave nothing. Evening was slow to let go, the air still near 87° well after sunset and the night ahead warm.
