Warm through the small hours, near 85° and still. The air was so wet that nothing dried. A thin haze lay over the dawn and burned off early. After that the sky was clear and the heat climbed without pause, past 100° by early afternoon. No wind to speak of. The light was hard and white all afternoon. Evening brought little relief, the air still past 90° well after sunset and the damp settling back onto everything as the dark came.
