Winter came back for a day. Rain turned to snow before dawn, a wet skin of it on everything with the air near 24°F, then fog over the river as the light came. The morning stayed raw under a sealed sky. A cold rain fell around 11am and the air sat near 28° through midday. Then the cloud broke. By late afternoon a wind had got up and pushed the air to near 40°, the cloud breaking apart behind it, and the evening blew clear and cold with the gusts still rising.
