Grey and damp in the small hours, the air near 42° under a full sky. The cloud never broke. Even so the day warmed steadily beneath it, near 65° by mid-afternoon, the kind of soft close warmth that comes before rain. And the rain came. It started near 4pm and fell for three hours, steady and warm, then thinned to nothing as the evening cooled.
