Mild and restless in the small hours, the air near 54° and a west wind gusting under thick cloud. The wind dropped by dawn. Morning was grey and calm and the sky thinned for a while toward eleven. The afternoon warmed a little under a closing lid. Then at 4pm the rain came and the wind came with it, strong gusts out of the northwest. The temperature fell hard through the evening and the rain kept on steady into the dark.
