Cloud hung over the small hours and thinned as the dark went on. By dawn the air sat near 37° and the sky had mostly opened. The sun climbed into a clear sky and did its work without hurry. By early afternoon it was near 60° and the air was still, hardly a breath moving. It felt like a day borrowed from another season. When the sun dropped the warmth went with it fast, and by 11pm the cold had come back to near 42°, the sky clear and the air dry.
