Warm and windy in the small hours under full cloud, gusts out of the northeast. The cloud thinned after breakfast and the sun came through in stretches. By 1pm the air was near 80° and sticky. Then the rain started. It fell for four hours, steady rather than hard, and pulled the heat down with it. The wind came back as the rain stopped. By late evening the wind was strong under a shut sky and the air had cooled.
