Cold before dawn, the air near 35°F under cloud that broke apart for a few hours and then closed again by first light. The morning was grey and damp. The cloud hung low until eleven and the air never got past near 42°, raw and still. Behind it a northwest wind rose and by late afternoon the wind was strong. The cloud tore open as the light went. By full dark the sky was clear and the cold came down hard with the wind still in it.
Pre-satellite record — solid, not exact. The Selma station, under a mile away, recorded no rain that day, where the model above shows some. Where they differ, trust the station.
