Snow through the small hours, heavy and steady, the air feeling near 4°F and the wind rising. It came down all morning. The cold eased a little before dawn and then fell back hard after 8am, the snow still thick and the wind driving it, until by early afternoon the air felt near 8° below zero. Then the snow stopped. The wind did not, and the evening held near 7° below zero with the gusts growing harder late.
