Rain in the small hours with a hard west wind behind it driving it against shutters. By 2am the rain had stopped and the wind dropped almost to nothing. The cloud hung on through dawn. Then it began to break toward eleven and the afternoon was open and mild, sun on wet stone and the air near 58°. Hardly a stir of wind. Evening came clear and the warmth went with the light.
