Grey and damp before dawn, the air near 41° under a low ceiling that had sat there all night. Then at first light the cloud pulled apart. The sky emptied. Not one cloud came back until evening, and the morning warmed slowly while the afternoon warmed more, up near 59° by 4pm with the air gone dry and a west breeze that leaned rather than pushed. As the sun dropped the cloud drifted back in and the damp came with it as the dark settled.
