Warm and dry even in the small hours, the air near 69° under a sheet of high cloud. The cloud burned off by 8am and then the heat came like a door opening. Noon was brutal. The peak sat near 96° in mid-afternoon with the air so dry it stung the nose. A west wind got up late in the day but it moved hot air around and little more. Evening gave back slowly and the dark was still hot at bedtime.
