Snow through the small hours, heaviest before dawn, with the air near 17° and the flakes thick enough to blur the streetlights. It kept on through the morning and thinned by eleven. The afternoon was grey and still, near 20° at its best, the cloud low and the new snow soft underfoot. Nothing more fell. Evening came down cold and quiet with the sky still shut.
