Snow in the small hours, fine and steady, with the air near 13° and a wind that made it bite deeper. It kept on past first light and eased by mid-morning. The cloud hung low. Around noon it tore open for an hour and the sun came down hard off the snow. The air crept up to near 22° in the late afternoon, the warmest it would get. Then the sky filled in again and by early evening the snow was back, light and steady into the night.
