Cold and grey from the small hours, the air near 24°F under low cloud and hardly a breath of wind, the damp sitting on everything. The morning stayed dim until mid-morning. Then the cloud thinned and a weak sun came through the gaps, the air lifting to near 34° through the early afternoon, the light flat and the cold steady underneath it. Short day. Cloud thickened again toward dusk and the evening came down early and still, the air settling near 23° by late with the sky shut.
