Cold rain in the small hours on a hard wind, the air near 23° and the wet going straight through coats. Dawn changed nothing. Rain and sleet came in waves through the morning and past eleven, sideways in the gusts, never quite turning to snow and never letting up. By mid-afternoon it stopped. The cloud never broke but the air crept up near 37°, and the wind eased a little as the evening came on grey and raw.
