Snow on the wind from the small hours, light but constant, with the air near 23° at midnight and falling all morning. By mid-morning it was near 6° and the wind was hard, snow driving flat across open ground and finding every gap in a coat. It did not let up. The afternoon stayed white and loud. Evening eased the wind a little and the snow thinned toward midnight with the cold holding.
